2011 Octavia TDI (mk2 fl) Dashboard LED

Featured Replies

Hey all,

My partners Octavia has decided that it doesn't like to show you how fast you're going anymore, and as such... my partners an interesting driver even when she can see the speedo! I've read the LED replacement guide, and am ordering a hot air rework station (wanted to get into this anyway), but I'd be very grateful if anyone can recommend the LEDs that they've used to replace theirs? I see the suggested white ones on Rapid (linked at bottom of post), but I wondered if there was anywhere better to buy from, or LEDs that were recommended over the Rapid ones? I note from the guide thread, people are picking up sets for very cheap (assume ali / ebay?).

Final question if you don't mind please - my partner has made noises about wanting the dashboard blue instead of white as she thinks it'll be nicer on her eyes which have had about enough of thirty plus years of diabetes. I figure I'd just get white and dim the dials a bit but if blue can be done, should it be?

Thank you all )
