Mk3 oil pressure regulator issue

Featured Replies

I have a 2.0 tsi mk3 2014 octavia, i have a recent issue where my oil pressure regulator valve is showing an electrical fault p164e00 and the fan is on full blast constantly, I have replaced the valve and still had the issue so I checked the plug and it was corroded so replaced that too, still no luck I've replaced the wire all the way back to the ecm and still no luck. Has anyone got any idea or come across this issue before and been able to rectify it?

I wouldn't worry about it, maybe if you could contact a forum mod they could move the thread for you

This IS the Mk3 Forum, not the MK4 forum.

It was originally in the MK4 forum, it's obviously been moved by a mod 👍🏻

Do you mean the radiator fan?

Id think that and the oil pressure switch are unrelated....

Suggest looking at temp sensors for the fan fault.

Maybe faulty ecu

Maybe stuck fan relay

Need more details.

Eg does the fan cone on as soon as you turn the key on, or to start, or is the ac on (that will make fan run)

Yes, radiator fan, comes on when the ingition is on but engine off, ac is also off. readings for the temperature sensors are normal.

Check this. But would probably run with ignition off if this were the case.

Really need a wiring diagram to see where the power to call the fan for does come from. Maybe ecu??

It does run with the ignition off for about 30 seconds the stops and runs again for about 5-10 seconds

Is the relay clicking on and off while fan turning on and off?

Id be thinking false reading of temp somewhere
