Optimum pipe size for front mountediintercooler

As title. When fitting a front mounted intercooler, what is the optimum pipe size. I’m hoping to achieve in between 250 and 300 BHP from a hybrid turbo. There are FMIC on the market with outlets ranging from 50 mm up to approximately 60 mm. Apparently larger sizes aren’t necessarily better as they slow down the speed of the charge.
