In inclement weather (less than 10C) the car automatically sets heated steering wheel and heated drivers seat to on. Anybody else noted this ?

I have noticed the steering wheel heating, when internal temperature is below 10...everything is set to default...not sure if there is a possibility for further customisation...

Hi Aronisk. I didn't need to customise anything. Both features detailed in my original post came as standard.

? is the Off / Reset easy enough? I got a Mini Countryman courtesy car that was set for the Employee Driver that usually had it. Radio stations and heated seat & steering wheel on when the ambient temp was 15*oC or below. That was the only thing i bothered to reset as i was like a wet rag.

There is nothing to reset. First start on a cold (10C or lower) morning both features are on. After a 4 mile drive to shops on restart both features were off without any input from me. Following morning in same ambient temperature the same result. Any 'reset' is obviously automatic and probably climate controlled. This was an experience I was not anticipating though I have to say it is very welcome. Just another thing I don't have to adjust/set before driving off !!!

Clearly if the ambient temperature increases to the point where both features are no longer required eg on a longer drive, it is a simple matter of turning them off using the steering wheel switch for the steering wheel heating, and the right hand rotary dial on the centre console for the seat heating. My 2022 plate L&K did not have these features.

Which country?

UK - Scotland specifically.

Maybe this is why it s happening...here, in Greece, warmer climate, less need for heat, so only steering wheel, heats on automatically...this is the reason also why there is no stationary heating available...

Ha ha. While Glasgow manages to escape the worst of the winter weather, minus figures centigrade are not exactly unknown. Clearly somebody at Skoda is taking these regional variations seriously !!

Hardly. They have yet to engineer vehicles so as the fuel freezer or Charging Port flat do not freeze closed on an Island Nation (4 nations) where wet and above freezing then freezing temps can occur. This from a Central European manufacturer.

Just label me optimistically naive !!

There is a setting in vehicle settings for putting heated seats automatically if the car senses a low ambient temp, you can turn it off. I can't recall where, but I've seen it, check around in the car settings where you click the vehicle left and right to adjust indoor and outdoor settings, it's likely in the indoor settings. If you struggle I'll go find it.

I'm intrigued by your post. I was in that part of the infotainment screen yesterday and didn't see what you mention. I'm based in the UK. Is what you're seeing perhaps a regional variation in specification ?

What temperatures are you talking about ? A light application of lithium grease would solve these freeze-ups completely. FYI lithium grease is effective to -18C.

@Colin1051 Absolutely, prepare for winter. That would be Simply Clever for Dealership services around winter time..,.. So DIY Clean and polish metal and prep rubber. What temp can be around 2 degrees c Ground or Air temp and below. When ice can form. Odd so many here over the years have the issue. Skoda have dealt with the New Peaq EV. The door handles have a hammer effect and can break them free when frozen. So maybe they have sorted the charger flap with a heating element...

I don't really mean to nit pick but your initial response of 31/3/26 was to lay the blame on a "Central European Manufacturer" being unable to engineer a solution for a problem which must occur everywhere in Europe, every single year. In effect engineer a solution for regularly varying climatic conditions. Perhaps you were simply attempting irony ?

I've gone out and checked.

It's in the air conditioning settings. Click the heater button to load up the heating/air con panel, top right click the cog.

Under air-conditioning settings there is 'Switch on at start of journey depending on temperature' > Seat heating > Level 2. I didn't check but I guess you can turn it off, or to level 1, 2 or 3.

Yes - I've noticed it, quite like it to be fair.

My wife loves it, she sits there with it on level 3 for what seems like hours. That area of my body would be like pulled pork if I tried it.

Many thanks for your helpful post. I'll have a look where you suggest but I doubt whether I'll change anything. I like is just as it is and I suspect that it's on the factory setting.

OK Buaan, I've had look where you suggested and mine shows engage/turn on drivers heat heating according to ambient temperature. Both seat and steering wheel temps are set to level 3. Given that I didn't know about this setting until your post, and obviously haven't adjusted anything, I'm assuming that mine is indeed the factory setting.
