Front Bumper Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Hi All

Well my Super B is really going well at the minute - She really is earning her keep at the minute - we are up on 7-800km each week

However she is looking a bit scruffy and I've been donated a front bumper with foglights for free - Its the same paint code LF8L so is a perfect match

Now the replacement bumper is not drilled for sensors - I have 6 on mine -There does not seem to be any markings even

Is it possible to drill out the replacement bumper or are there brackets moulded into mine to hold the sensors? Has anyone done this job?

I don't want to look like an ungrateful git after the generous donation of a mint bumper of the same code and I could take off mine and look but it would be handy to have a little inside knowledge first so any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks in Advance Lads

I can’t help unfortunately as I’m in the same boat ie. No front sensors, but would like some.

From limited experience on other cars, the sensors tend to held in place by their own tolerance fit ‘clip’ fittings (if that makes sense). Good luck with it.

You can buy kits to retrofit them 100% OEM as if they have come from the factory, and they come with the required brackets that have sticky pads to fix to the inside of the bumper.

I'm pretty certain that after looking at pictures from breakers the inside of the bumper has markings where the sensors would be drilled out when fitted.

You can just make them out on this eBay listing.

It should be a case of drilling out the holes and then either just buying new brackets, or if you can pry the existing ones off and just using new sticky pads like 3M VHB.

Everything should swap just swap over then.
