Driver door loom issues?

Featured Replies

Evening folks

I own a 58 plate fabia sport. The driver's window stopped working this week. Fiddling with the runner boot where the wires go between the door and the car body got it going again so I suspect a broken wire which I gather is a common issue.

I also have an issue with the doors randomly locking and unlocking when driving so likely the same thing.

I am not skilled enough to attempt to repair myself. Is the best bet a febi repair kit? I have found one for £40 posted - the 107065.

Otherwise would a whole replacement loom being the best bet?

Thank you for any advice

Reckon a new loom would be quite expensive. Maybe see if there's a local auto electrician that can repair it for you. Shouldnt take long to splice in another section of cable if its a broken wire. If you were to remove door cards etc. it would make the repair cheaper.

If you want to buy a brand new loom then go to Skoda-parts.com its about 138Euro so even cheaper in pounds if your not sure its the right one just email them, There not a UK company but I bought one last year and have just bought Bilstein shock absorbers from them takes about a week.

You will need to know to remove your door trim and the lower footwell panels to do this.
