Greetings, new member with new (to me) Rapid Spaceback

Featured Replies

Hi All, greetings from Melbourne Australia.
After nearly 20 years with a beloved golf that my son wrote off 2 weeks into passing his test (red P's) ..

Got a new daily in the form of a 2014/15 Skoda Rapid Spaceback 1.4

so far it's fine.. I think it looks good, feels light, looks to sit a bit high - find the ride a bit crashy

biggest niggle is that a rattle has developed in the dashboard

Passengers side .. towards windscreen/ pillar area

Worse when the car is cold. but does seem to reduce as it warms up

Ive got the dash partly stripped down, but cannot more precisely locate the damn rattle!

I was wondering if it's the heater fan or similar..

Anyway - if anyone has any ideas that'd be awesome.

Plans are to

  • Daily it

  • Black the grille

  • colour the wheels - they're pretty badly rashed - bronze or more likely anthracite/gunmetal

  • I'd love to lower it 25/30mm
    I saw options include

Eibach Springs MODE Auto Concepts or Euro Flow.

H&R Springs: Fulcrum Suspensions - which seem lower (maybe too low?)

Struggling to find places in Melbourne (ideally around south east) that have Eibach lowering springs.

And no one is really responding to emails

Any ideas/recommendations?

Fulcrum better than Eibach?

Anyways good to see you all and say hi

Hi tbwr and welcome, hope you find the cause of that rattle.
