Anyone with more than one car ?

Featured Replies

Well strange predicament due to dads age and alzheimers diagnosis he shifted his car to me.

Pretty damn nice car 1.8T DSG 2014 less than 20k, packed with as much as mine has and more besides like adaptive cruise, folding mirrors.

Not sure I need 2 though longer term tho....useful for now though as my petrol vRS similar vintage really could do with a clutch <80k miles so I am grateful for it regardless !
Not exactly the slow option either, obviously not quite as good as a 2.0T but better economy.

Bit weird having 2 such similar cars though not sure how I will reconcile longer term. Before this I was really more hoping to have an old Fabia 1 and make it petrol rather than diesel but thats gone now.

Had three since 2007 and four for a while but all different... As per signature with the Civic being the fourth for a quite a while after I got the Swift...

Mark 1 Fabia vRS. MK2 superb 170 estate TDi, workhorse. MK3 Superb 280 L&K estate. 2s not enough 3s too many 😜

I did have a garaged queen Fisher Fury with a bike engine for a while but it was a bit too untame for my liking, fair build quality by last guy but I just didn't have the patience for it.
Bad time to track day but went out on Nov and slipped off track twice ( it was wet) and had trouble getting back on with clutch lol. Not long after that decided it was a bit rough and raucious. Done bikes too obviously, not now though.

I see where you are at with that Baxlin, you really feel with that regardless of progress. We also have a convertible low mileage MG he gave me too which gives you more of a connected motoring feel but no where near as fast as both as these ( actually to 60 about same for the 1.8T ). From rolling the MG feels kind of slow though you have to really wind that up despite its lowish weight.

Wow, do you feel the Fabia is kind of the bruiser? I did. Or more connected with it like you feel faster or want to go faster? That was the case for me when I had mine.

The 280 must be pretty capable but if its like my (Octy 2T) vRS its kind of a sterile fast, I usually don't drive that quickly (or as fast as it could be :D)
These cars are just too fast actually and sort of disconnected.

It’s the torque that puts a smile on my face on the diesels. The Fab just pulls really well. I do find it very noisy in the cabin and it has quite a firming ride, as it should. I do want to go faster in it for sure. The space is small inside for the family plus there are no mod cons Bluetooth, cruise both could be sorted easily but left it standard for now.

In the 280 I wish it had some of that push you back shove. You do go fast without realising it as it’s very quiet. I have become more calmer in that 280 just set the ACC on my journeys and let it do its thing. Remember it is an L&K estate maybe what it was made for 🤔
