Getting the L&K Estate 130TDi PD "Jabberd"

Featured Replies

I am interested in getting the L&K Estate 130TDi PD "Jabberd" .

Can anyone answer the following ?

On this engine what would the differance be in terms of : MPG / 0-60 / BHP and effect to insurance premiums ? Also would there be any potential warrenty issues as the car is being bought brand new.

In the meantime:

Happy New Year

Not sure about the PD130, but if mine is anything to go by you will get a small reduction in mpg if you drive "briskly" and slightly better economy when taking it easy or towing etc. This is mainly because you need to change down gears less often.

With approx 180bhp in a 130pd Octy I reckon you'd get 0-60 in around 7.5 - 8.0 secs.

Insurance wise (if your company allows mods) you can expext your premium to increase by the same percentage as your power increase. Some, like Liverpoool Victoria, dont charge any extra for certain mods.

Warranty wise the risk is up to you. If a warranty claim is traced back (and caused by) to a non standard ECU you might have to shell out yourself for repairs. Rechips can always be discovered if looked for properly.

Hope this helps a bit!

You can make your own tuning box for about

Mine has lost some MPG after the map, but not a huge deal. Just a couple of MPG average over a tank which is nout to worry about really. :p

BHP wise, your looking at about 180ish and around 300lb ft of torque. NOt tried my 0-60 times yet, but as Matt said earlier, probably looking aroun 7.5-8 seconds on the Octy. :D
