Hi Everyone, I am a Lady driver who owns a Skoda Yeti (best car I have every had) since 2011. I live in France and recently, we have had weeks of 38 to 40 degrees everyday. It is horrendous. The last five days, I have had the following warning lights appear on the dashboard : ABS, Electronic Stability Programme, Tyre Pressure. I understand it is important to check the tyre pressure regularly in the extreme heat, which I have been doing. The lights come and then they go off. I remember a few years ago that I had to replace a sensor on a tyre. Do you think this is a warning that one of the sensors needs replacing? How do you know which sensor is faulty? Can you tell through the settings? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to go to a garage and be ripped off without having the knowledge. Thanks Guys.

Hi VCT, welcome to the forum. I've been on the forum since 2013 so my car is nearly as old as yours. There are lots of post concerning faulty wheel sensors but also over the years there have been a lot of posts of seemingly random lights coming up on the dashboard which resolved when a new battery was fitted. Depending on how old your battery is it might be worth getting it checked to be sure it's in good enough condition not to be causing the problem or, if the battery is showing it's age then it's not a great expense to get it changed and see if you still have the fault. It seems, and I'm not an expert on these things, that even if the battery is starting the car and running things OK the condition can have deteriorated to a point where the electronics become sensitive and start misbehaving. This happened to me some years back which is why I mention it.

Hi Paul, thank you for this information, it is very kind of you. I changed the battery in February 2025, but I will get it checked out as we have had two years of 40+ degree summers. I did at first think the lights were coming on because of the extreme heat and the tyre pressure. Thank you again. VCT

Maybe an ABS wheel sensor. Not expensive.
