self locking

Featured Replies

Hi all ,

Sitting in the petrol 1.6 Karoq 2023 today doing the crossword when it locked itself, well not quite , the doors locked but the mirrors did not turn in . pressed the unlock button on the key and it then unlocked , a minute later it did it again so pressed the key button and it unlocked. Thinking I had inadvertently pressed the button I put the keys on the dash and waited . Two minutes later it locked itself again. New key battery about a month ago but if it was that wouldn't it fail safe ? ie doors unlocked .

The only other thing I noticed when looking around to see if the wife was near and playing with her key I noticed a VW Turog next but one up being loaded with shopping in the boot. Whats the chances of the VW key signals affecting mine?

Or any other ideas of a cause?

Not sure about the first locking but all subsequent lockings where because you unlocked it but didn't open the door.

Yes , didn't open the door but it shouldn't have locked in the first place should it?

I don't think it should. Similar thread here
