A mate has just got one of those Hairdresser's Nissan Z Cars

Very nice it is too, in the Electric Blue colour.

How does one persuade them to let me demonstrate drifting?

I wonder how it compares to a breathed-on Octavia vRS (not a tarted-up Elegance ;) ) point-to-point? I bet it's a handful.

I heard the excellent ESP system means even a cr@p driver can go fast in one ;) Corners like ****e though, especially round 90 degree bends :D

A set of Falkens would sort that out ;)

Who told you that then ? ;)

The ESP does make you feel like a driving god. Turn it off though and it could be a real handful. Having failed to drift mine on the way home from Fast & Furious 3, I've not touched it since.

Point to point it would probably take a very heavily modified Octavia VRS to beat a standard Z. The grip is phenominal and power delivery so smooth, many magazines have rated it as one of the finest handling cars out there at the moment :D

Hairdressers are all driving Peugeot 206 CCs these days aren't they ?

You will need big rear view mirriors to keep an eye on it :) :) :)

A good friend has a 350Z & we have swapped cars many times on the track. My 4x4 in its former guise mapped + a few tweaks to 250 bhp was as quick if not quicker than the stock 350Z, he now has twin Turbos, I have a bigger turbo giving me 350 bhp.

The 350 is only marginally quicker than stock as the traction control is always kicking in. The 4x4 is :) :)

As for fun to drive the 350 is very predictable & even as stock drifts are very predictable. With twin turbos & traction control off its :) :) :)

In a straight line the 350z with 400+ bhp will win if you can find a long enough straight.

As a std car I feel the 350 is hard to beat for driver enjoyment & its very much on my "next car" list but sorry, a heavily modded Vrs will be streets ahead on Performance
