Hi there. I hope I've not missed something obvious on your forum, but does anyone know how to find OEM part numbers?

My 2011 Fabia 1.2TSI front wheel bearings are getting very noisy. I've looked on various motor factor websites having input my car reg but there

seem to be different dimension assemblies availabe. The only thing I suppose I could is to remove one the bearing/hubs and measure it up but my

wife can't afford to have the car off the road while I order a spare part. I've tried Catcar info but there's no numbers there. The local dealer won't give

me any help which is fair enough. Is there a reliable EPC available to help please? Thanks in advance.

Go to https://www.lllparts.co.uk/ and browse by manufacturers parts diagram. If you input your vin it will narrow it down. The listings of the bearings may have a PRcode which there is a sticker in boot near spare wheel. You could also try febi parts finder. Find it pretty good.

Look on the sticker in boot to match PR code

They are press in press out on the MK1 and maybe MK2 I got a cheap puller/press on amazon that did the job fine.

Thanks for the quick reply and info Alasdair 1. I didn't know about the PR codes but now I've checked them all and unfortunately the sticker doesn't have what I need. I've visited the link you've provided where there's a chose of two part numbers but as I don't have the PR code I can't be sure which part I need. They really don't make it easy! Regarding the puller is it a Gen2 puller that's required? Thanks for your help.

Gen2 bearing type that needs special tooling to make sure you don't press on the hub face when installing.

Search youtube for demo vids with tooling examples.

First one, ending E. There have been some superseding numbers but they usually quote all that match on the aftermarket.

Great stuff Breezy_Pete. That's just what I need. I've got access to a hydraulic press but I'll get Gen2 tool kit to be on the safe side. Thanks a lot.

Had to spend a bit of time cleaning up bearing socket on my sons. Especially the grooves it clicks into due to corosion. Fairly easy to do with the correct puller. Couldnt get ABS sensor out without destroying it. Give it a good soak with penetrating oil for a day or two and you will hopefully be lucky.

By coincidence I had an ABS fault recently which was caused by a faulty front speed sensor so I ended up replacing both of them. They were completely siezed in so I ended up carefully drilling them out. I drilled down about a centimetre theh heated the end of a screw which was inserted into the remaining length of the sensor and it popped out with no damage to the bearing. I lubricated the new ones well so their removal should be easy. Out of interest I used Febi replacements and they've been working fine.

I'll be sure to clean off any corrosion as you suggest.

Also with sensor fault the DSG box was awful on changes. Apparently the mechatronic uses a speed sensor input. It was back working beautifully again after the sensors were replaced.

Used febi ones as well and no problems. Put a slight smear of copper grease on bit that fits in hole not the tip for future removal. According to youtube the new bearings should click in place when fully home. I didnt hear anything but they went in as far as the old ones. Took a photo of the old ones in place before removal for reference.

Sons were really loud but no play and we only noticed once I finally fixed his blowing flexi exaust. Just got to do front swing arms and bushes now,
