Hi All

Need a favor please, today I was mucking about planning an audio upgrade and I took a look in the fuse box that sits to the right of the battery under the bonnet.

There appears to be what looks like an 80A fuse to the left of the box. It seems to be missing a nut on the 10mm threaded post.

Would some kind soul please take a look in there fuse box and confirm?

Good afternoon Dave, is the 80Amp fuse link under where the nylon fuse extractor is?

That missing terminal post nut clearly looks wrong - what does that fuse protect?

its not mentioned in the book, it may be wrong or just an unused fitting, I need to know what other peoples Elroqs'look like to know, but your right it does look wrong.

Maybe something is supposed to bolt to it, but its not fitted to my car??

Almost certainly this.

Other end looks to be riveted in, so standard part of box whether used or not.

Thanks for the tip but none of the fuse boxes match my Elroq one.

I would be very grateful if another Elroq owner would pop the bonnet open and take a sneaky look and see if they too have a missing nut not?

Just trying to avoid driving 50 miles to the dealer to look at another Elroq myself.

Does the stud go down and connect to the thick black wire below?

The one that goes out at the bottom left of your first photo.

If so does that go to the positive battery terminal?

Hi, just looked at mine, it is the same - no nut.

My guess (and it is a guess 😬) is that it would be for some option like Heat Pump.

Mine is a 60 sel and I can see there is an extra relay and 50a fuse in your fuse box compared to mine.

Edit : Apparently it is fuse 1 and shown not assigned.

I googled it at and it came up fuse 1 in the under bonnet fuse box is not used empty/spare.

I don't have heat pump either so that bolt with the nut missing could well be the point they connect it too?

My extra relay & 50A fuse maybe for my heated screen, that'll take a bit of juice?

Just updated my post above that apparently it is unassigned fuse 1.

Yes, just looked that 50a is for heated windscreen which mine hasn’t got.

Thinking about it, that spare 80a might be for connecting high load 12v stuff for converting them to emergency vehicles for example, or maybe it is a common fuse box for all VW group stuff including Porsche, Audi etc and it is easier for the robots to just make it with that 80a fuse.

@AGFalco the stud doesn’t look connected, it doesn’t touch the fuse strip and looks like it needs the nut to make a connection.
