Is possible to disable coasting (sailing) on skoda superb 2021?

Is it not based on drive mode? Just setup what you want against the Custom drive mode. That's what I did on my 2018 model

@Seba800 what engine does your Superb happen to have so that some idea what DSG you have? A smaller TSI with a DQ200 or a bigger tsi or TDI and a DQ381?

Coasting is more intrusive on the facelift models which this is. It’s in all preset profiles rather than just Eco.

The only way to avoid it is to have the individual profile setting for drive mode to sport and then gearbox will be in S so you need to then change it if OP didn’t want to be.

Also in facelift cars, it always starts in Normal profile rather than remembering which profile you were in. So every time you get in the car you need to switch profile and then knock the gearstick back to be in Normal (if so desired).

Tdi 200ps dq381

on previous 2016 Mk3 TSI 220ps DQ250 FWD i coasting by default were present only in E

on current 2023 Mk3.FL TSI 280ps DQ381 AWD it were also in D, had to code it out

I've tried in any possible way to remove it in mine, both using VCDS and OBD11 and it proved an impossible task. Gone in all the menus "predictive sailing" et al. and nothing.

I got recently the habit of driving in manual mode, since the logic of the gearbox upshifts and downshift is simply idiotic, so don't bother me much the coasting ...

The few times I want to ride in 'auto' i put it on sport, or in the other modes I use the gearbox in sport, and upshift 'manual' when it lingers too much in the gears.

I hope someday to make a TCU tune and hope some wizardy is able to make it gone.

Since this is a sensitive topic, I remark this is "me", in "my" driving in "my" car.

On Kodiaq MK1 FL (TDI200 DQ381), coasting is also set in Normal mode. But I have to say coasting activation is quite smooth and I don't really notice it. Thus, it doesn't bother me when it's activated...

I think, they've made progress in the geabox settings...

Perhaps is better to clarify .... disengagement and re-engagement of the gearbox is always fast and smooth, no qualms with that.

My problem (repeat, mine) is that with almost 40 years of driving, I am used to "engine braking" and I use such in combination with "brakes" depending on the road, speed, conditions, and my desire at the moment.

The fact that some dork has decided it's a good idea to de-couple engine from transmission in an invasive, but also random way (since depending how fast you car release the skinny pedal seems to have an effect on coasting activation) and put it in the operational logic of the vehicle without any option of selection, irkes me, and lots.

Especially as I have no way to disengage such setting and tailor the vehicle to MY desire, and nevermind the stupid and absurd consumption of brake pads ....

No matter what others say, this is the single most stupid feature of this car for me....

It is how they got the WLTP and RDE2 results that was needed and results in the VED being paid. Without these being achieved under not real world test results there would only really be Hybrids, phevs or EV,s getting manufactured by the VW Group in the lower costing non premium models. It is damn simple seeing as we are talking semi automatic boxes, change down manually if you want, or keep your toe lightly touching the accelerator.
