New windscreen

Featured Replies

Hit by a stone on the M6 during the storms the other week. Made a huge bang but couldn't see the damage straight away as it was behind the rear view mirror. Because of the proximity to all the ADAS stuff it needs a new windscreen 😭 A few cm lower or to the left it could probably have been replaced. Hope this doesn't turn into a tech saga 😐

Anyone had a new windscreen and encountered any issues?

Same issue; smallish crack above drivers eyeline just kept growing. My insurers windscreen partner - National - booked me in and 90 minutes after he started he was out on a test drive. The new screen was marked up as a Skoda part; the fitter had all the calibration rig so clearly it's quite normal.

Well, as normal as the software underneath lets it be...........

There was a post on here a while ago from a member who had their windscreen replaced. After it was done the windscreen wipers were randomly activating. It looked to be because they'd done a messy job with adhesive around the cameras.

So I think you need to use the photo you've already got of the camera area, and then make sure it looks identical after they replace the windscreen or you could have issues.

Mine is also booked in at National Windscreens. The online reviews are mixed to say the least! Hope I have a similar experience to yourself. Where is the manufacturer label on the windscreen? Some reviews I read indicated they don't use genuine parts.

Thanks for the heads up. Will do.
