Skoda Felicia 1.6 GLX idle problem

Featured Replies

Hello.

I have problem with idle at Skoda Felicia 1.6 GLX.

Problem starts about after one year when i replace throttle body.

Usually high idle is present when outside temperature is high, about 30 to 35 degree celsius and the motor is cold.

Now these days when temperature is drop i still have problem and is even worse.

It goes up to 2500 RPM when the motor is cold.

Sometimes when cold start is normal when i drive some kilometers it starts again and idle keep holding for about 2000 RPM.

Sometimes the motor was cut off during low speed and warm motor, but this fault is gone now.

What can cause this idle problem?

When you replace the throttle body did you use a scan tool (OBD scanner) for possible error codes?

Have you checked the coolant sensor? It's wires-contacts?

The vacuum hose is checked?

Hi.

Sorry but have no any scan tool (OBD scanner).

The coolant sensor and contacts and wires are OK.

Also i can not find any vacuum leaking.

A repair-shop visit needed or a friend of yours may have a VCDS in his laptop or even an OBD11 which works with a smartphone. Even if you perform an ECU-reset by yourself if there is an error it will show-up again soon, it must be erased.

The coolant sensor is ''OK'' if you measure his contacts, from outside may look good but maybe it isn't.

Check the hose connection in the fuel pressure regulator and in the intake manifold.

The throttle body must be calibrated and do some Kilometres in normal driving so the ECU ''will learn'' your driving style, a scan tool is absolutely necessary in that case. I have changed mine plus 2 ECU units and also i had a vacuum leak in the past.
