Decatted Fabia vRS?

Featured Replies

i work on Fords , but was taking a guess after i went outside to see what was connected up by vacuum pipes and could cause smoke/lack of power , we have mondeos in all the time with no turbo/smokey and its almost always an intercooler pipe split off the EGR valve , we also had an ST focus in today with no turbo but that was easy to diagnose as he'd had a larger intercooler fitted and the Samco hoses weren't fitted to the throttle housing correctly allowing boost pressure to disappear

Well' date=' the initial problem was caused by me taking my anger out on my stress toy, ie the Fabia. 140 on my private strip, then stopped at the traffic lights. Engine stalled, wouldn't restart, and oil and bits of turbo everywhere.

Failure of the impellor is a common fault, but because it's mapped, no warranty, which is fine.

But, to spend 3k putting it right, and it go tits a couple of days later doesnt bode well.[/quote']

in which case why didnt you get a hybrid/fmic as they surely won't cover any warranty work now even though you've fitted oem parts because it had been modified in the past?

not trying to sound like git mate, just confused as to why you spent

flog it and buy another :D

The engine cover has been known to wear through the vacuum pipes going to the N75 and EGR solenoid block on the o/s strut top.

It doesnt wear one. But, they are investigating the egr valve. Well they were this morning. **** knows what they have been doing this afternoon.

Shifty,

sorry to hear you are having problems. We have fairly similar useage patterns, & after my impellor let go big time I decided to leave the vRS as my road car & use the Clio as my track car. Interesting difference in the approach of Skoda UK & Skoda Deutschland. I got a new turbo & motor!

Hi Steve, how's it going? Will you be at the ring around the 18th?

Update on my car, they are suggesting the new turbo which I paid for is dead. It goes on and on as I will have to again wait weeks for a replacement turbo.

Pretty shocking with the back order parts these days I find.

Pretty unimpressed Skoda

Nice plan. I'll sleep on that.

Bugger you all beat me to it - I was gonna say that!!

PM WW_VRS he got one from Turbo Dynamics pretty quickly and I fitted it for him.

Turnaround time for TD for mine was within a week IIRC - I went for the MD345 which is a hybrid and slightly larger :o

They also do larger ones. Mine was an all-out purchase rather than exchange, so it ain't that cheap.

:)

Hi Shifty,

sadly work is getting in the way that weekend. I got over last weekend & I have a business trip to Gremany next week which means I can stay over next weekend, but I am forced to work on 18th. Bugger. The track has been great recently. Hot & dry. Hope you get to see it like that rather than under rain & fog like last year!

Shifty , if they're saying the new turbo is faulty are they admitting that its a faulty component that has nothing to do with the fact that you've got no cat fitted and its remapped, and hopefully not chargable to you . I might be tempted to get an independant examination of the turbo if they say you've got to pay for a new one again after a few days use

Not sure that this will help, but been speaking to jabba about cat for my ibiza FR 130.

They have said that there can be a problem with to little back pressure allowing the turbo to run away with its self and the actuator cant pull it back.

It is late and I havent had time to think the mechanics of it through, but I have also herd the same from anyother source.

Hope it helps????
