Suspension rattle from the rear

Featured Replies

Hi

Recently I have noticed a rattle coming from what seams to be the rear suspension :thumbdwn: , cant put my finger on if its from the left or the right but it only happens when going over "minor" bumps. Have checked in the boot nothing loose everything is tied down or has been removed to eliminate all that but still happening.

I have a feeling it could be a loose link bar as i had a similar problem on a different car but wanted to ask you guys your opinion.

I have something that sounds similar. A light, dull 'clinking' noise over minor bumps (mine is most prominent on the driver side of the car). Skoda reckon it's the clip holding the rear seats back (there is a common problem involving that) but they've tried unscrewing them slightly and it's still doing it. Drives me potty but it doesn't seem to have done any harm (yet!!)

Have you tried driving with the back seats down (to open the boot space)? See if the noise disappears then.

Good luck.

Richard.

Might be the exhuast, mine drives me mad sometimes aound town.

I have something similar and I had convinced myself that it was just the plastic balls on the end of the string that lifts up the shelf because they are quite heavy.

Im not sure anymore though as I think the noise has become louder recently.

I had the same thing when going over bigger speedhumps. I took it in to the garage and they said a few people with vrs' have had the same thing. They said it stops after 10k and they were spot on!!!!!!

Mine is doing this, although I only noticed it once the aftermarket springs/dampers were fitted. Car is on 9k so will see if it goes after 10k.
