Engine coolant quick top up

Featured Replies

Just a quick check - the coolant on my '06 vRS (4000 miles) seems to be exactly between the maximum and minimum line, and has been for the past month or two (car is 5 months old), should i give it a quick top up with a little bit of water, or is it some special cooling system like i know you can get in Ford's where its all pressurized and uses a special liquid etc....?

Think i need to replace my "farting" rear speaker aswell, anyone know if they are a standard 13cm speaker, or am i going to find it difficult finding the right size?

Thanks guys/girls.

P.S. The coolant is on this mark at the moment and the engine is stone cold (not driven since Friday), but i am fairly sure it is on the same level after i have been driving for a little bit?

Cracking. I have also just found out my "local" dealer doesn't exist anymore - not from them, but from these forums - it was Ballamys in Shoreham, Sussex. :(

So, i also need to know if anyone knows of any other decent dealers in Sussex, or in the South?! Oh god, im screwed, i think the nearest dealer is bloomin' London!

Yes it you should fill it up a little, but dont exceed the maximum mark. it should be fine just to use water to top it up.

oh and the rear speakers are about

as for dealerships. there's sparshatt's in fareham.

Thanks for your help. Are these guys any good? Official Skoda dealers?

the tweeter in the rear door is wired to it as well. so if you use some aftermarket speakers you would have to cut the plugs off and put new terminals on the wires to join them to the speakers.

Not strictly true...the plugs will 2 x +ve and 2 x -ve. One pair is for the "mid" driver, the other is for the tweeter - so all you need to do is only the pair for the mid and you'll have disabled your tweeter.

You also don't need to cut the plugs off, you can use spade plugs on the end of the speaker wires and wedge them into the plugs. Or use thick speaker wire.

what you are saying is right. i was looking at it from a simplicity point of view.

you can also get adapter leads from autoleads which convert the factory speaker plugs into spades for aftermarket speakers ready-made. they cost about
