Cheers

Hi Mate

Best is not always the cheapers.

We do the G60 conversion.

That takes away the dual mass flywheel.

We have 2 types the standard clutch with single mass flywheel at £320.00 + VAT or we can do an uprated one with Helix clutch at £490.00 + VAT.Both of the kits come with all the bolts and bits that is needed for this conversion

Hope that helps you

Sarah

Isn't a clutch bearing and friction kit about £150 for an OEM Grade item.

I know i was only quoted £300 all in for a TDI clutch and thats probably bigger than the item on the VRS due to the higher torque output of the engine.

Try eurocarparts or gsf (german, sweedish, french)

The main problems on the clutches is the dual mass flywheel.

By going down the G60 route this includes the flywheel.

If you was to replace the dual mass flywheel on its own they retail at £611.00 + VAT

So with the kit we do you get the flywheel , ALL the bolts required (12 of them) and a cover that is required too , then there is the clutch , pressure plate and release bearing.

Hope that goes to show that the kit is not THAT expensive as you first thougt

Sarah

Sarah,

What sort of similar options do you do for the TDI's then in this sort of line and what do you guys charge for fitting of such a kit. Reason I ask if that if an uprated component with better life costs not much more than just a clutch fitted then it really is a bit of a bargin.

Hi

We deal with Helix and for the uprated clutch WITH the single mass flywheel for your car this would be £586.08 + VAT

This includes :-

Single mass flywheel

Clutch plate

Pressure plate

Release bearing.

Fitting on this would be £225.00 + VAT the same as a normal clutch

Hope this helps

I have a full listing of the Helix clutches now , so if anyone wants any help please feel free to ask

Sarah

OEM flywheel plus clutch for the 1.8T used to be £719 - although that price might have changed.

So the single mass flywheel lets more vibration and noise up, but is probably more reliable, anything else I should know about going from dual to single mass?

I mean this is only a maybe at the moment anyway as I'm waiting to see what happens at work before i either keep this car or go get a new one.

Hi

Yes the dual mass is put on the car to help with vibrations in neutral

So you may get a bit of vibration in neutral , but many have done this and it is not that excessive.
