The Z is sick (again)

Featured Replies

Lots of the Scooby boys and girls had problems with BP Ultimate causing their knock sensors to light up like Xmas trees, so I'd steer clear :D

Main problem is that BP is on the way to work, sainsburys is an Octavia trip and SHell is miles away :(

Do ESSO do an SUL grade?

Most owners measure fuel for MPG, RX owners measure their oil that way don't they??

I know someone who has had a 350Z for 2 years and have not driven anywhere except the garage:rofl: :D;)

you've got a good un there!

Yep' date=' I'm back in a Nissan Note today as the Z is in with the dealer.

Mystery creaking from the front end, persistantly noisy gearbox (that they agree is noisier than their used/demo cars), creaking passenger seat, creaking passenger door when it opens and a creak in the hood mechanism. Engine light was on this morning again as well.

[/quote']

make sure it doesnt blow itself up like my dads old fairlady Z he parked it up came back and it was a load of burnt metal...insurance didnt cover fire in hongkong!

If sainsburys fuel is as good as Tescos it will be USELESS, also mpg will drop. If shell is miles away Octane booster might be the answer

BUT jap cars can normally be ragged to death in std guise without any problems so it should not be your driving.

My M8s runs fine on most higher Octane fuels, perhaps its the twin turbos you need, Im sure you could make use of the 420 ish BHP.

To add IIRC he had no engine light probs with the car as stock & it did get "used spotingly as the designer intended" with no single particular fuel being used.

If the light was coming on on a regular basis the only way you can be certain is use a few tanks of other fuels & see, also speak to the BP tecnical dept & telll them what the garage said, Ive found Shell very helpful in the past & Im guessing BP will be the same, BP I believe are also introducing a fuel over 100 Octane :) :) & Shell are set to introduce V Power at 99 Octane :) :)

Soon your car will fly

shell, esso, and bp come from the same place its the supermarkets that use a diff addetives etc...but i think esso fuel is water anyway its naff fuel:confused:

I thought all fuel was sourced from the same refinery and it was just the additives which were different (added as it's pumped into the forecourt)?

Chris

i did too but i've been told otherwise:confused:

I use Sainsbury's SUL in the Octy and it's always been good stuff. Cheaper than big brand SUL's as well.

The stuff from Total garages is w@nk, makes the car run like a badger's ar5e.

Tried Tesco's once and it wasn't much cop.

Optimax is always good stuff but there aren't many Shell garages round here

Esso do a SUL but TBH I couldn't tell much difference from the regular stuff (apart from the

I found Esso's fuel to be toilet tastic!! I swore I would never use it again, as the Octy ran like a dog after using it!!
