Mooing rear brakes....

Featured Replies

Just a quick one.....

Had the mod fitted (counter weights) to the rear brakes...

That awful noise has gone and I can now reverse without cringing every time!:)

Counter weights? Mine went in today to have it checked out and they've ordered a handbrake cable to solve it?!?! Do you have a part number or something as maybe my dealer needs pointing in the right direction.

On the plus side, they put new discs on the front today, have ordered a new glove box door and fixed a rattle on the dash - all under warranty.

Any help on the moo problem would help as we just made all the neighbour's curtains twitch reversing onto the drive. not good at 10:45pm.

Cheers.

Sorry, I don't have any part numbers.

The warranty repair sheet only refers to "fitted balance weights" (mis-quoted on my first post!)

They told me when I initially booked it in that the mod had only just been approved (which was only a couple of weeks ago)

the job itself is (I'm told) a simple one taking no more than an hour

Good luck....

Thanks, fingers crossed eh?

Are we talking here lads of a squeek that disapperes when the brake pedal is lightly pressed?

1HO698998C is the part number I beleive - I'm checking mine today!

Any more details of these? Where exactly do they go? Would like to check if mine have been done...

The dealer checked with Skoda technical and there still is no fix for the Octavia, they beleive it's a Fabia fix. What a farce!

No real confirmed solution yet I guess.... As always this one is going to continue.

Whatever the case, my brakes are still very much moo-less:)

:smrbow:

I had mine in on Saturday for a service and I just got off the phone to the service guy.

He has spoken to Skoda Technical and they have now got a fix for the Octavia. They are going to release it in the next two weeks on their in house technical site.

It's practically the same as the Fabia, just with slightly bigger dampers fitted.

This will cure the problem!!!!!

Take yours to the dealer NOW
