I'm not sure where/how to post this but I'm hoping someone could help me replace the recirc air-con flap motor on my 2002 Octy vRS? .

Basically, I've recently been diagnosed as having V71, that is that my Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor has started to play up (cue rabid-mouse-chewing-threw-dashboard sound).

Hi. I think this is a known and 'fairly' common fault (well, I've had it done - under warranty). I know your car is out of warranty but have you considered asking for a goodwill stylee contribution from the dealer/Skoda?

I think you'll be pushing your luck for £40 mate it's a naff job. I would have thought nearer £75 for a recirc motor change and best part of double that if it's the other one and the dash has to come out'

So, lummox, what is a V71 :confused: ? I've been in, behind the glove compartment, and unplugged a device of some kind on the very furthest left of the dash, and the noise I was getting has stopped. My car is now prone to misting up, which leads me to believe I left the flap in recirc mode before I unplugged (duh!).

I have an EKTA layout from my local Skoda dealer, and they seem to suggest that V71 is the recirc flap motor (they've given me the part number I need etc.).

sixman, Lummox most definately knows what he is doing

He used to work for skoda and I think now works for another arm of the VAG group.

Still work for Skoda, just added VW aswell.

Having worked on Audi and SEAT previously its just Bentley to go and Ive for the main marques
