Been looking around at some bit's and bob's for the car and have noticed that virtually all the decent suppliers or manufacturers of goodies are in the north of the country, why I ask myself is there nothing of any note in the South?.

That's a bit harsh gents, they make some good brews down this way if you avoid lager!. As for the rent issue, other companies survive down here so why cant a decent tuning shop one that's similar to Awsesome and Demon.

All the decent performance exhaust companies are up your way too only Janspeed down near us and they didn't inspire much confidence when I visited them with VRStu.

From a business perspective there may be several reasons, some I can see as previously stated......

Rent / Rates - higher in London / home counties than up north

Salaries for good tech's, probably higher than oop north

Internet sales - if you have to pay the same price to buy an item in at trade, but have to pay out higher fee's for storage and premises, you would have a lower margin to work from, GB's etc would / could be non existant.

Everyone want's something for nothing, or discounted etc again, hard to do if your overheads are higher.

I understand this viewpoint but I reckon there's got to be an opening for a decent provider down this way. THere's nothing like actually seeing the goods before you buy and the facilities to have 'em fitted if you so wished!.

In addition, most (if not all!) of the people visiting tuning places will be driving there, so geographically it makes sense to position yourself in the middle of the country and then build up a strong reputation so that people will travel from all over.

Other industries differ though, there are a lot of scrapbooking shops in the south, but very few in the north. Or so I'm told.
