Octavia TD 140 Elegance Advice Sought

Featured Replies

Hi There, just registered as a new member as I am in the processing of (possibly) changing my car and am looking at the Octavia as a possibility. I took one on a test drive earlier this week and was very impressed with its comfort, handing and performance. The only negative points I found was road/engine noise at about 70 MPH and some of the interior plastics look a little cheap. My questions are as follows: 1. Are there specific tyres for the 16" Elegance alloys that people have found to give a quieter ride? 2. Any comments on the service received from Vindis of Woolpit (Suffolk) 3. What are servicing costs like?

Many Thanks in advance for any info received!

my car is on 16" Bridgestone Turanzas and they can be quite noisy on certain surfaces - other wise a suberb (no pun intended) car.

p.s. you may never have considred an auto, I never did - but try a DSG and you will change your driving experience forever!!!

Have an Octy Elegance 16" with Dunlops no probs, but getting an Octy L&K 16" with Brigestones so looking forward to the threads that follow

Fitted BF Goodrich gProfile , and they are extremly quiet

Ive got Bridgestones and yes they are noisy. Engine noise isnt really a prob above 30 mph or so and the performance makes it worth it.

Had Bridgestones from Factory. Replaced (through wear) with Dunlop Sport SP01's.

Bridgestones better for mileage but nosier - I guess harder compound rubber.

Goodyears quiter but not lasting as long, got nearly 30k out of original Bridgestones.

Try Michelin Pilot Primacy or Sport : MUCH quieter than either Dunlop or Bridgestone, and longer lasting, and that is on 17" rims. Mine is a 2.0 TDi Elegance with DSG 'box: brilliant combination.
