Personally I wouldn't buy it. If you want to get into the scene cheap then look for a Pentax iSD* as they are bleeding cheap and good spec for the money. If you can stretch a bit go for the 350d [the newer 300d]

£250 is about right for a good working model and they are a good camera. Bear in mind the 18-55mm lense is a kit lense and isn't great. It will do you for starters but you will be looking to replace it soon enough.

When considering the camera make sure you are happy with it, Canon, Nikon and Pentax are all good in that they have a huge back catalogue of lenses which can be used :)

Its garbled. The guy says you can see the data through the lense.

depends on how much it would cost for a new eyepiece and to see if it is possible for the rear display to be fixed....you can pick up a brand new Canon Eos 300D DSLR with lens now for about £600, with a warranty from Canon...I own a 300d, and it is a very good quality camera, use mine regularly and it has not let me down at all.....touch wood!!
