Tyres for 1.8T Elegance Estate

Featured Replies

Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Pilot Exatlo or Pilot sport IMHO

Kuhmo KU31

They're a "cheap" tyre but I find them better than the Michelin Pilots or the Continentals I've had on the Octavia before.

I went for the Kuhmo's also.

As Goochie says, their cheap enough and they're directional.

When for one size up (225x50x15), the tyre calculator (freedom) reckons they were within the parimeters.

Cheers for the speedy replies chaps. Like the sound of these Kumho tyres. Seems quite possible to get a pair for around

v = 149MPH

w = 168MPH

Either of those will be fine.

Good stuff.

Goodyear Eagle F1s on my Elegance Estate. Defo directional tread and very grippy.

Hmm, Im sure Ive read elsewhere on this forum to stay clear of the Continentals for the Estate.

When I bought the Octavia it had a new set of continentals on it. They wore out in about 5 miles.

The Kumho's seem much better and I find they give much more indication of when they're reaching the limit while cornering.

Pilots on my estate as standard (spare is still unused "sticker tyre"). I've liked Toyo Proxes on other cars, and do not recommend Dunlops; poor grip and wear.

Blimey mate ,,,,,,,,,,,,, the handbreak is the long thing between the front seats. ;)

I blame too many drag races on a rough concrete airfield ;) To be fair the Kumho's would probably have worn badly under the same conditions.
