My 53 plate Furby RS??

Black magic fabia vrs, 2003 (53) plate

standard spec apart from cruise control.

72k miles

Perfect bodywork apart from a scraped bumper (that will be replaced shortly)

how much do you think it would be worth? whats the book price?

At the moment it has several mods including big brakes, suspension and a remap, would it be worth leaving these on? or return it to standard??

my dealer has a "offer" on at the mo, offering book price+500 trade in on skodas bought from them originally... im tempted to chop it in for something new ;)

like a proper vRS? :P

I found that most will offer book price of a basic car regardless of options.

I would return it to standard as well Colin.

What colour will your new vRS be??

Petrol or diesel??;)

Is this budget motoring disease catching or what??

Its cos we all saving for top spec Octy II 2.0TDI (170 bhp) VRS's, with cash to spare for associated remaps etc.... ;)

You'll have the first 3 years of ownership to save for a remap, wouldn't want to comprimise your warranty would we.

House = err probably

swmbo is going back to uni next month, so she wont be earning for a year, so will be a while before its on the cards (if it lasts) lol

Get a Corsa CDTI SXI+ - you'd save a fortune!

Yours must be worth around £6k part ex, £6500 for a private sale, imho.

Hmmmm

its all up in the air at the mo... theres also a slight possibility of a company car at the beginning of next year.. but i dont think id get one.. choice of any diesel as long as its a ford or vauxhall and less than 2.0l

*or* i could save my money and splurge it all on a exquisite walkie-style lifestyle and go to every dance festival, and the nurburgring and anything else i fancy in 2007 :D (tbh its tempting)

Just wondering out loud here but any reason you don't just keep it?

Remove the mods before selling unless you can find an enthusiast to buy with them on - as a rule of thumb you can kncok their cost off the car's value. To a used buyer who doesn't know you or the car it says that the cars been thrashed and owned by a boy-racer, regardless of whether that is the case or not.

Colin,

Balance how long you have left on the finance agreement with the value of the car. If you only have say 12 months to pay, I would keep it as in 12 months time your repayments for the vRS will be zero. whereas if you buy another car then thats another 3 - 4 years of finance ahead of you.

Because its done over 70k.. and its beginning to feel tired.. the fabia was never designed to be a hot-hatch, let alone a 180bhp one.. so things are wearing quicker than they should.. it can be fixed, and upgraded.. but it all costs money and its gonna need a new clutch eventually
