Is my Vrs falling apart?

Featured Replies

I have had my 05 plate from new and I have had trouble free motoring. Up until now!!!!!

There is nothing mechanically wrong with the car and it is a total joy to drive.

But over the last few months I have had a few annoying problems.

Squeaks and rattles most of which I have cured myself.

But there is one rattle in the bottom right hand side of the housing that holds the Speedo and rev counter that will not go away.

Over the last few weeks there has been a rattle coming from the boot I thought that it was the high level break light as I have had that apart several times to sort out the connections on the bulbs.

But no, that would be too easy.

Well on Friday night we pulled into get some fuel on the M11 and some w***er reversed in to the front of the RS when we looked it was only the number plate was broken. Straight away the bloke tried to buy us off but the clever police lady that I was with was not having any of that.

Enough of the waffle. I thought that I had better get the car checked out. It is totally fine there is a dent in the bodywork behind the reg plate, so that is not worth the trouble to fix.

Whilst the car was at JCB Skoda in Basildon they washed it for me as I inspected the alloys for cleanliness I noticed that the green brake callipers are not as green as they once were they are very dull.

When I got the car home I shut the door and the trouble and strife saw the rear window lift up. On closer inspection you can lift the top nearside corner up by several millimetre

05- warrenty? take it back sort the problems out:) i think you might have got a friday afternoon car?

Apologies for hijacking the thread, but do "Friday afternoon cars" still exist? I would have thought with greater automation in factories and more stringent QA that they were a thing of the past?

Or am I just deluded?

Yes you are.

Go buy a SEAT, everyday is a friday at thier factory.

There's a difference between building Friday afternoon cars and producing consitently poor cars :P:rofl: Can't argue with the deluded part though ;)

Having never owned a SEAT i don't know about them but in my limited experince FIAT may tip the balance over SEAT.

The car before my Octy was a FIAT STILO while it was well equiped my, little boys have a better idea about putting things together.

I am sure you all now what FIAT stands for (Fix It Again Tony)

I really hope that my car is not a Friday Car it has been perfect until now.

Skoda think that as it has got 21k on the clock they will not cover it as a warrenty item, because in that time the glass could have been taken out and replaced by an none authorised person?

Another massive thumbs up for JCB SKODA Basildon

IMHO it would be up to them to prove it has been taken out and poorly refitted.
