Paintwork advice please

Featured Replies

Back in August some kind soul knocked off my driver door mirror, and the whole unit had to be replaced. The garage got the mirror assembly, which presumably comes "plain" as they then had to spray it.

I've noticed a few chips in the paint on the mirror, where it has gone back to grey - presumably the base plastic. The car has no other stone chips (and none on the passenger door mirror) so I am a little worried that the paint has chipped because it hasn't adhered properly to the plastic.

Any thoughts on this - should I get the garage to look at it with a view to respraying it, or should I just touch it up myself - my worry is that if the paint hasn't adhered I will be fighting a never ending battle with the touch up paint!

Thanks!

The dealer that now sells a certain Korean brand of cars? Yup, indeed it was :)

Thought I'd have a search on the net for the covers you mentioned. How naive of me to search on the term "Butts" ;)

I like the chrome S3 style mirror covers they do , they would look fantastic on a Black RS , not too sure whether they would stand out on my sliver one.
