Guess now its time to read through 4 days of threads. :D

This was my gross mileage for this weekend. Broken down roughly into:

195 miles of fun filled, adrenaline raising Nurburgring thrashing.

1100 odd miles of travelling there and back

100 miles of "sundry" to/from centre parcs, going for fuel, driving for viewpoints. etc. :D

Great weekend had by me! Many thanks to Alex for all the background work put in to the trip.

Just got back to Devon in 3 hours 50 minutes from Dover, including pootling off the ferry and then being redirected into a side bit and given the 3rd degree by some woman in Customs. Never mind, was a first for me so I quite liked it. :o

So, I think I did Dover to Devon in about 3 hours 20 minutes with no stops and an average speed of 67mph (including the pootling and M25 slow bits ;))

Journey to Germany was equally nice. Overnight drive meant I got to Dover in under 4 hours and we all had no issues driving to Germany.

I need say nowt about the Ring. Everyone should know about it and what it means. Its more than a track. It feels like some kind of legend. Car park was full of porsches, BMW M3/M5, stripped out race prepped VWs etc etc, and a smattering of Skodas. I think all of us held the Skoda honour OK although in reality its hard to "compete" with the machinery there.

The mongrel wasn't too smokey either. I elected to run on track with no log and it proved a good move as it was still very quick and had lots of power, but the top end wasn't puffing out too much smoke. lpg was.... Not sure on lap times, but based on timed laps of an unchipped Fabia I'd like to think I pipped 10 minutes on one lap. I had about 2 out the 15 where I got good dry tracktime without me having to pull off the racing line too often to let uber-porsches past. :D

Right, time to catch up on Briskoda now. WHAT a weekend!

Wow. I am so jealous.

Will there be another trip next year.

Remember, it is not reccomended to coast round the ring in neutral or with your clutch dipped ;)

Nope - but it is highly recommended to just dump the clutch on changes up. :D I love my clutch. An instant rise in revs/power and then plenty of pull from 3500 to the redline! ZOOOOM! ROAARRRR! Wish someone had got some sound of mine. :D God I loved it!

:wrthless: :D :D :D

:grumpy: Why would I want to be slowing down? :grumpy:

Well, in order to negotiate the carousel its recommended to slow down from 70 to about 40 to avoid hitting the arm-co. ;)

i'm still not home Jason , i've got another 160 miles to go tomorrow from my parents house near Chepstow , cracking trip to the Ring though

the customs mustn't like you Jason , you got held up by them on both sides of the channel LOL

In Dunkerque, it wasn't my fault though! I was just behind some Audi A6 who's occupants were being given the 3rd degree by passport control. :)

Sorry I just took off. Never got to say Bye to you and Jeff, and co. I just wanted to get home as quick as possible. Just hope no NIPs come now.
