TDI vRS twin tail pipes?

Featured Replies

Does the VRS TDI have twin tail pipes or are they hidden?

Thanks,

Trevor

Same as petrol, nothing to say it's a tdi, only way to tell without starting it or looking under the bonnet is to look at the rev counter

Thanks Ants.

So not to start a big debate but the difference in Eire between the two is 1200 euro about 800 pounds. The TDI being the dearer. I reckon that difference would be reflected twice if not 3 times over when the time comes to sell with the TDI having a higher residual.

Heart says petriol, head says diesel.

Thanks Ants.

Light blue touch paper....

You enjoy the money....I'll enjoy the driving.

....and stand back. :D

The main problem I see is that the petrol is cheaper and quicker but also the Elegance 2.0 TDI has a much better spec. I'd find it hard to justify getting the TDI vRS.

Must admit I think Skoda haven't been too clever with the Derv octy vRS. I guess time will tell...

Thats the problem isn't is PD140 and Elegance with sports suspension is less than a VRS with jumbo and climate, and still has much more kit.

I am glad I got the Elegance TDi, it's plenty quick enough for me, looks a bit tame at the lights but really pi$$es people off when I floor it.

Twin tail pipes are fitted to my Octy and look the dogs danglies over the standard pipes recommended fitment IMHO.

ps I will have to go and have a look at the TDi.... coffee with Ants and cheer him up a bit, wasn't quite ready for taking off the stabilisers over the weekend and fell off:P you wern't trying to get some air over the roof of the Octy and get a piccy for the calender at the same time were you???

My car looks pretty good with the Pegasus wheels and the tinted glass. Chrome tail pipes are next on the hit list. It's as close to a vRS as i'm gonna get both in terms of speed and looks.

If the TDI vRS was available at the time of choosing then it would have been a very hard choice due to the 18" optional wheels and the blue paint job.

IMO the vRS spec isn't great but with the petrol there is the added bonus of the 200PS turbo lump under the bonnet while the vRS TDI is, well, just a diesel at the end of the day.

Petrol: go for the vRS

Diesel: go for the 140 Elegance

The oil burning vRS is mostly for company car drivers.

Taz, can we see a pic of those twin pipes of yours?

I have twin pipes on my 05 TDI along with Pegasus.

Yeah I think it would have to be the petrol for me. The 2.0T is a great engine.

Have figures been published for the residual on the TDI vRS yet? The reviews of other TDI 170 cars haven't been great, so would this affect the resale value??

Elegance, DSG and the sports kit and the sports exterior trim  Now thats a bit more appealing

I haven't any residual figures but from a leasing point of view the diesel vRS is
