Petrol (95ron) has fallen 4p in a week here, now 92.9p.

What still 95.9 for petrol around here , was 99.9 so has gone down 4p but still loads

Diesel has dropped from 97.9 to 94.9 here in sunny Eastbourne.

I heard on the radio that there was some sort of price war going on between Tescos and ASBO (sorry I meant ASDA).

Was pleasently surprised myself.

There is a price war between the supermarkets, currently Sainsbury's is leading the pack... as a knock on effect the main companies have reduced the cost as well, to remain in the game. It's called price matching, All stations have 1-3 other local stations as a marker and then the pricing desk will review data and adjust accordingly......

Yup, former Shell worker.... no matter how I try the hellish time in 'hell.... i mean shell has never faded away into the much wanted 'distant thoughts' area of my brain.....

Q

I feel bad for you guys.

We pay 1 pound per gallon here.

We'd pay about that if we could dig a big hole in our garden and plumb in a petrol pump ;)

surely ooop north where you are you only have to hand them a couple of potatoes for your fuel gooch?

I don't know how much it is around here as I've not put anything in for about 2 months now.

Sadly I'm not THAT far north.

Though I have recently been to Bakewell and found that genuine Bakewell tart is not at all pleasant.

I refuse to conform to the local dialect and call roundabouts "islands" though. FFS the island is the triangluar thing with the bollards on as you approach THE ROUNDABOUT !!

I think that you probably had a Bakewell 'Pudding', not a tart.

The 'Bakewell Tart' is a 'Mr Kiplings' invention. The 'Bakewell Pudding' is the original.

Having lived in Bakewell for a while, I still can't work out why so many tourist turn up.

Anyway Goochie, I hope you had a good time. (feeding the duck's no doubt!)
