Ups

Featured Replies

Iv'e managed to save something else at work from going on the scrapheap, it's a Compaq T1000H UPS, and despite sitting in a basement for years, It's got a full charge and will happily run my pc with the power off :D

Only snag is is that it only does the "Kettle Leads" (Is what I call them), but my Router is a 3 pin plug, and I need that kept alive during power cuts. Do I have to have a UPS that has a 3 pin plug on it or is there a kettle lead to 3 pin plug converter?

get a multiway adapter and change the plug on it for a kettle plug then plug everything you want to keep on into the multiway adapter :)

You can easily make up a cable yourself.

You need a male to female kettle type connector and a 3 pin socket , a sharp knife and a screwdriver :D

i can't work out what your going to with a kettle plug and a normal socket

IEC 3-pin power pinout is here.

Buy a 4 way power multiplug, one with no lead at all just the screw terminals under a cover on the end. Find a cable with the correct plug to fit your UPS (normally male 'kettle' type) chop the other end of the cable off and terminate on to your new 4 way multplug.
