HI all :newbie: here

Just bought my first octavia, a 99T 1.9 TDI SLX (110) very nice cars to drive,

well impressed, just moved up from a 96 golf 1.9 CL DT.

:wow: what a difference a modern engine makes, QUIET Mmm, did I start it already, good job I got a :revs: counter.

I am 38 and gettin older by the second & live in the north east of england,

And I have been converted. :saythat:

Now thinking about another trade up to a L&K Damn I'm in love with a car. :eyecrazy:

Is the age of the car related to the current v1989 update issues?

Just wondering if the age of the car, and therefore the Infotainment unit, is a contributing factor when it comes to the current issues people are having when installing the latest v1989 software update? Is it worth commenting on here if you have had issues or not and what age your car is to try and see if there is a relationship between the age of the car and whether issues have arisen?

Hello! With the Heat we are experiencing in these days in Italy (more than 30º) I decided to use the the aircon, as last Summer it was really wonderful BUT with my surprise it doesn’t work! I thought there was no gas in the tank but test said there was; I also put new from the beginning but nothing changed: Skoda mechanic told me he doesn’t hear the compressor starting. Thinking to the works I made on the car, I realized I replaced the climatronic panel with the one with heated seats and since

We bought our Scala Monte Carlo Edition 1.5 tsi back in December and from late January it has had both mechanical problems and electronic gremlins. The mechanical problem have mostly been sorted, new rear discs and pads that were making noises like a wheel bearing was rumbling, the gearbox has had a software update and a reset (it's still not perfect). And the road noise is just the high dB tyres and lack of sound insulation. The electronic gremlins were put down to a failing 12v battery which

I thought it would be useful to create this separate topic and collate information as now Infotainment Software Version 1969 is out in the wild I imagine user interest will increase. Octy 2 1.4TSI ESTATE CAXA Quite uncertain where to enter this question. The keyfob#1 has started to cause serious problems with the car alarm system. So far keyfob#2 is working with no problem. Car alarm starting randomly and only disconnecting the battery helped. Yesterday the alarm kept sounding/flashing even when the engine was running - undrivable. Is there a home cure whereby I can remap/reset the key fob? My very helpful auto sparks is unable to help
