My new car

Featured Replies

Later today, I should be sealing the deal on my new car, an Octavia 2.0TDi Elegance estate. Its a very nice car indeed and pretty quick for a diesel. I have agreed a PX figure for the Boxster with the skoda dealer, and the car change is being done more or less as a swap. Really looking forward to changing car now, the Boxster is a very goof car but expensive to keep going. At least I should now be able to put some money aside for other things. 50MPG versus 28MPG, 1/3 of the insurance cost and more besides.

Hopefully collect the car in a couple of days.

A couple of piccies, and a question. The car has the Audience Stereo, where are all the speakers located?

Nice car mate, in a good colour too.

Bet you cant wait

Sounds like you got a reasonable deal too. :)

can understnad it with my head but not my heart :(

porsche go RARRRRRR

That looks like the audience stereo but the standard 8 speakers rather than the 12.

I told you it is a nice beige.

If it has the 12 speakers, there are 3 in each door. on the front they are the tweeter by the open handle, the grill by the back of the storage pocket and there would be a third one at the front of the arm rest with a sound system badge on it. On the rear doors they are in similar positions.

Thought about that colour but swmbo hated it , went for the graphite instead, I am loving mine done 4,000 miles in 5 weeks

Looks good mate

very nice indeed  nice colour too.

Its a good feeling not having to stop for fuel every time you go out in it. Any extras on top of the Elegance spec?

Nice one. Are you gonna be remapping that badboy? ;)

Hmm, remap is very tempting, not sure on what you can achieve with the 2.0 PD engine.

Doing the paperwork this evening, I found another added benefit. 12 months road tax is just £110 compared to the Boxsters £190 so another saving.

I am getting the car Saturday morning, so as to avoid loosing a month in road tax.

Just spent the last hour swapping the lighting on the Boxster back to the originals, so I can sell the later spec ones I had fitted. They should make £550 easy, giving me some more money to play with.

Looks like a Stream. Standard Elegance kit.

Definately Audience, says so on the front and has the 6 disc changer as part of the headunit, nothing in the boot area.

The stream and audience look basically the same as each other , especially on a picture that size

Rang Adrian Flux this morning who insure the Boxster and was quiet suprised at the insurance refund for a vehicle change.

Only a few days to go now, lets hope the garage get the cover note in time.

The Boxster has gone. :( , I am now the owner of said Elegance Estate.

Just one issue, which is being sorted out. The Audience stereo had a faulty changer, so I am as a temporary arrangement listening to the sounds of Stream with no changer connected untill later this week when they get another Audience unit.

is it going on track tomorrow manny?
