Suspension Noise

Featured Replies

I will be booking my car in to the local garage as soon as I get chance to fix a few things (see the squeaky dash thread) and also when they have something other than a 1.2 sport fabia with sport written all over it for a courtesy car.

Anyway I wanted to get everything done in one go and I want to know what people think of this one as a potential issue, Whenever I go over even the slightest bump I can hear a hiss coming from the suspension, it sounded like I had a puncture that was squeazing more air out as I went over bumbs but my tyres are fine. Has anyone else noticed the suspension making this noise and is it something to be worried about? the suspension seems to be perfectly ok but saying the car needed a new clutch at 12,000 after being a demo I suspect it has been thrashed around alot.

just really need to find out if it is normal so I know whether to accept it when the garage tell me its nothing to worry about like they usually do

I also have some noise then i drive over bumps from the suspension, but not if i drive very slow

Mine's made that noise since the day I got it - just under a year old now with 11000+ on the clock.

The creaking of the silver plastic trim above the glovebox drowns it out :D

Hissing suspension is normal, don't worry guys.

That's good then, as long as everyone's does it

Hmm, i owned 2 Audis before i they dont have that noise

Mine does it too, totally normal, it's done it since new and it has 11k on the clock now.

Obviously Audis have different shockers to the Octavia.

I've never had a car that made that hissing either but i'm over it.
