crankcase gasket

Featured Replies

Hi All

Just had the drive block paved but need to sort out an oil leak on my '98 felicia. My local mechanic says it's leaking from the crankcase gasket but he's having trouble sourcing a new one, Butts of Bawtry do not list this in their pdf parts catalogue.

Anybody know of a source please?

Not sure what you mean by a crankcase gasket?

What engine would be helpfull also.

yeah you got me puzzled too! does me mean the sump?? you dont say which engine either.. but the 1.6 engine dosn't have a sump gasket and they are just sealed using some gooey stuff!

Sump? Timing chain? Who knows,

Could be the timing cover gasket on the 1.3, Butts TGS068, Skoda 047103161 - if so you will need a sump gasket and may as well replace the crankshaft pulley oil seal at the same time.

Thanks fordfan, having rechecked with the mechanic, it is indeed the crank oil seal (timing chain side) that is required. Butts don't list this though.

1998 Felicia 1.3LXi

OSTS11 according to their catalogue or Skoda part number 047103085, under the engine section, sub-section seals.

Finally got a crank oil seal fitted, now have an oil free drive

mechanic had to drop the engine to get to it so it must be quite tight that side

also had 2 front struts, an oil sender and an outer cv boot fitted in the last fortnight, who says Skodas are cheap motoring

i suppose
