Sorry about the car, but at least there is one less of them alive. I hate foxes.

Shame you have not got it sticking out your grille like the guy who hit a rabbit. That was so funny!

Theres some fluff on the underside if you'd like me to send you some? :P

Bad luck about the damage on the car, but it could of been worst, you should see the damage that a horse makes.

Just because hunting with animals as been banned.....:D

sorry to hear about that. those sort of thing are so annoying

Have you tried pushing the dent out from the inside? £450 sound alot for what looks very minor.

Couldn't agree more. Foxes should be hunted to extinction.

It's cost me

What did a Fox do to a your dog?

I quite like foxes, but think the hunting ban is stupid.

I've only hit a fox once, and luckily it ducked so it didn't hit any bodywork. What sort of speed did you hit it at?

In answer to some of the questions:-

As to the speed of impact, lets just say the fox did'nt know much about it!.

Tried pushing it out from the inside but it's strong plastic. I have been told to heat it up and it may 'pop' out.

£450 does seem a lot but the bumper has split on the underside (you can't see that in the photo) so that price includes new bumper, fog light/housing & grille insert + labour, priming & painting.

sod that steve, heat it up a bit(not too much though otherwise you might damage the paintwork) and bang the bugger out. so what if it has splt a bit at the bottom? as long as it all works fine and looks fine don't worry about it :D

Aww...poor foxy...you should be ashamed of yourself!

What did a Fox do to a your dog?

It gave it mange.

A particularly nice paracite that burries under the skin.

Bah, unlucky MF. Not something you can do much about really :( It could've been worse though I guess, and £450 for a new bumper with spraying isn't actually that bad a price.

We had a Felicia in once that had hit a deer on the M55 near Blackpool....not nice ! Car was absolutley wrecked at the front but the best bit (in a smelly sort of way ) was the amount of deer still inside the engine bay ! Took the insurance a week to come down and sort it by which time it had really furmented, felt sorry for the body shop who had the joy of re-building it !

take out arch liner and spash tray. heat from inside - with a heat gun.. it will soften and push out.

Thankyou for that.

Call me stoopid, but would a hair dryer be powerful enough to do the same job?.

I don't think it would. It's only just about powerful enough to soften up badge adhesive. :)

yeah! dont go too hot tho otherwise you will blister the paint. it might be worth getting a body shop to pull it out!

Foxes  Hate them like nothing else. Hit one of these 6 months ago on a dual carriageway, fortunately in oldish Polo and not newish Fabia. Damaged bumper, lower grill, bent radiator, foglight and engine undertray, knocked out tracking and needed wheel rebalancing. Still got issues with suspension knocks and headlight levelling on that side.

And the stupidest question? "Did you not check it was OK?" Err no, I was doing 70 and it's hair is stuck to the hatch still. It's really dead.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident. I cant help thinking the thread title would make a great name for a pub "The Fox & Dent"
