This is a question about the characteristics of the standard climatic system.

The temperature of the aircon at setting 18 is the same as 22 - pretty damn cold which is ideal when its roasting outside. However if I move the control past setting 22 it then warms up. Setting to what is indicated as 20 is by no means the same as the an ambient 20.

Is this normal? or does my car need some dealer assistance?

I too have this system and I agree there seems to be a definite change to warming at 22, but overall i am very happy and get good comfort from the system. My last car had dual zone climate control but I'm just as happy with this set up.

My Old Octy I seems to cool for 18/19, use external air for 20/21 and warm for 22 and above.

I'm guessing that the MK II is the same in that it's just doing it's climate controlling bit and will be using the right air for a certain temp.

I know when the external temp is 27 and the internal is much higher, 21 degrees blows frosty air out at me. (To the extent that the side windows get condensation on them).

just been in the loan car today of the same model and it's the same. must be a characteristic of the car.

If it's used on the economy mode (presume that turns the aircon off) it does make a difference.
