octavia problem

Featured Replies

Does anybody know if there is a problem with the octavia "cutting out". Mine has started to do this, garage cannot seem to find problem.

Any more details? ie what year, what engine, when does it cut out etc. rather like me 'phoning a vet and saying "my pet is not well"..... :D

There are many reasons it might cut out, some are simple to fix like a relay 109 problem.

(I think the old relay 109's are black and the new ones grey and the old type cause problems like this)

More details will help somebody who knows more give you a proper answer.

I t's a W reg 2.0 petrol, when idling or when going a low speed between 2000 and 3000 revs, it start getting very "jerky" the revs are hard to keep up. I have to keep it in second gear to keep the revs high, then they eventually drop off altogether and it cuts out. It's then very difficult to restart.

had a very similar problem on my 2.0 petrol X reg ,when it starts jerking dont lift off the throttle keep it "jerking" for 5 to 6 seconds and the engine fault light should light and record a fault .if you lift off and change gear too soon the EMU wont record a fault as it did not last long enough. Mine turned out to be two faulty plug leads.

Garage found crap in the fuel filter, changed that and had the injectors sonically cleaned but the problem is still there between 2000 - 3000 like a kangaroo in any gaer.
