Vista RC1

Disabled UAC, and still the same.

So, thought I would try RC2, not a good idea.

Now its all installed but LiveTV in mediacenter is broken, it scans and finds all the channels but doesnt display a picture. All this was fine in RC1.

I thought that... on mine it only displays the pic either fullscreen, or when its minimised in the bottom corner

I have given up for now, I need the HTPC to be reliable. Vista is nice, but until its finally released and we get some decent drivers it just isnt. Have now put back my MCE2005 ghost image.

The issue with my tv tuner, and vista is a microsoft thing. Between RC1 and RC2 they broke support for DVB-T in MCE. Outside of the mediacenter interface you can scan etc, but for some reason MCE is storing the wrong frequencies. EG, down here the BBC multiplex is on 506MHZ, but for some reason MCE for vista stores 505MHZ, therefore no signal.

Knew all would not be well.

Just re-paired the MCE2005 and Xbox360, and live tv is now broken on the extender. Worked ok before playing with Vista, recorded tv is fine though. I think I have spotted the problem, I think it has something to do with the user account. Previously it was logging onto mce as MCX1, now its using a new account MCX2. Just need to find a way of getting the MCX1 profile into MCX2.

just about to download it, does novell work on rc1?

what the hell is it? you bunch of geeks! lol!
