Using a Road Angel in car with UV windscreen.

Featured Replies

I got myself a Road Angel. But it doesnt work in the Rennie as it as a UV windscreen. I know you can get external antenna but I don't want to have run a cable over the roof. Is there any other internal antenna I can get?

Thanks

Its tricky because of the uv windscreen, but have found when I was using gps that the side or rear glass is not uv on some cars. So might be worth getting a signal outside the vehicle first and then trying it on the rear shelf etc. If this works then you know were to put the external reciever......

rear shelf is usually the place with the uv windscreen :)

kerberos, what is 'Rennie'??

my guess is it is an indigestion tablet....but as its a car he is talking about it will be a Renault (frog mobile)

thought so, i've just bought a road angel for my fabia so this thread raised an eyebrow

I have the same problem with our megane, found that attaching it to the drivers side window, let it works fine and with careful placement also allows you to open the window.

Some heat reflective windscreens have a small area on the top of bottom that is completely clear. This is designed for electric garage openers but if you position the RA well then it should be fine there. WHen I had my Clio this is what I did and it worked fine :)

If you're planning on using an antenna you can run the cable around the edge of the windscreen then place the antenna on the dotted area just above the rear-view mirror that is the only area that isn't UV.
