Skoda Fabia VRS 2007 - YES or NO

Featured Replies

Hello guys!

I'm counting on your extensive experience and your rich sources of information!

I'm propably going to buy (wife approved - for some reason it got a high WAF) a Fabia VRS model year 2007.

Please, any info what can I expect, how many of the problems will carry on to 2007 and will it all be wort it?

Thanks for all the comments!

do it! you'll not regret it, it'll put a smile on your face every time you drive it... (mine still does, and I've now covered 50k!)

in Dec I'll be ordering my new one (ESP and leather too..) and in Jan, SWIMBO will be offered 12k for a company car, so we're gonna get another!

I've got a 2007 and love it!! Its got a very slight 'stutter' at about 1900rpm sometimes, although imo its more of a hesitent throttle and it doesn't bother me.

Damn, still no solution for the stutter in sight?

I will sometimes go "far far away" with it (1200 km). Is it built to withstand that and will I be reasonably comfortable?

I'm battling right now for a test drive, but here in Brussels they say they don't have any VRS.... damn Belgium!

New Fabia is out next year IIRC so be prepared for depreciation & old looking model.

I don't think it will be a big deal for VRS's until the New VRS comes out. maybe sometime in 2008. I think the vrs in the shape it's in now will be a timeless classic lol ;)

I saw go for it

I am waiting for the New 1, heard rumours it will have the 1.4Tsi engine. ( the turbo/supercharger) version :)

Will test drive 1st before deciding.

For 1200km trips i would say get thhe Octy Possibly VRS TDI, possibly elegance.

IMHO the furby isn't *that* comfortable, mainly due to it's size.

I love my vrs and it suits my needs perfectly. I have the stutter on mine but I don't feel it's enough of a problem to say don't get one. Maybe an email to Skoda UK mentioning you're not sure on whether to buy because of this would be interesting though;)

On the rare occasion that I sit in the passenger seat I find it a bit uncomfortable, so long journeys as a passenger could be a problem. There are lots of threads on here about certain little problems that have arisen that you may find useful to read. All in all I say go for it if you think it's the sort of car you will suit and enjoy

Brilliant motor, We find it very comfy even on long journeys, and we are not exactly small!

They would be stupid NOT to put a diesel back in. Thats been a major selling point and why the vRS Fabia has been so successful. IMO I would wait :D

There's been many top notch reports surrounding the TSi engine. 150 bhp as standard, 60 in 7.6 seconds, 40 mpg (ish) :)

I think that the new car will be an absolute blinder as I just can't see skoda going backwards on a winner. The current car is just superb. Can't wait for the new model. :)

New model has 170 bhp, lowered suspension, rear ARB, 17 Alloys, Carbon Fibre dash and Xenons as standard!!!  All for the same price as the old model ;)
