Man, went away out with my hawk today and 2 ferrets, opened the car door, what a stink (no the ferrets) -driver side front floor saturated - unclipped all plastic, moved carpet etc as much as i could, but cant get the seats off so i can lift the carpet clear .

How do you take out the front driver seat on octavia glx td -s reg?

Please, if someone could help or show me to a pic- i just cant fathom it out.

oh, any ideas where the problem leak could be coming from.

Have you changed your door speakers recently? aftermarket speakers usually require cutting the membrane behind them and can then let water in. Just a thought. Also, what's the coolant level like? could have popped the heater matrix....:eek:

To remove the seat you need to take off the two runner trims (do from behind the seat, two screws, one each side). Undo the two 13mm nuts on the front mounting then slide the lot back and out.

Blocked drain holes in the scuttle panel where the wipers are located, there is also an electrical box there which will not take too kindly to alot of water. Take the wipers and the scuttle panel cover off and have a good look around.

Struggling with a massive pear cider hangover, ive hopefully found the problem.

Recently, i got my local garage tp put a new bonnet cable in as the last one was stretched, so having a look at it today, the grommet is slit all the way down and loosely fitted round the bonnet cable instead of the cable being pushed through the grommet.

Had to cut out all the under carpet and am going to get a hairdrier on the go- it was like a swimmin pool. on the floor

Am going to leave everything out the car etc and take it back to the garage tomorrow am.

Hopefully the garage shall fit it correctly this time ! and for free.

i take it you can only fit the grommet from under the bonnet and not from inside the front driver side- as lack of room?

Even fitting it from the top is not easy, you can hardly get your hand in that wee space to make sure the grommet lip gets fitted properly?
