Hi all

I have had my Octavia VRS, 01 plate 1.8t for 6 months. 2 months ago the car wouldn’t start after couple of days of not starting it. I replaced the battery and every thing was fine. A month later the battery went dead. I have charged the battery and after 1 day of not starting the car, it would not start up at all, so I recharged the battery and when I went to start the car my immobiliser light started to flash and the car would switch off after 3 sec of starting it. I have used my other key, thinking that it might be the chip in the key but the same thing has happened. I’m following the instructions in the manual but no luck on in putting a new code. If anybody has experienced this or can help I would be ever so grateful

Cheers

Possibly your altenator is on the fritz, if it is the alternator it will just keep getting worse until you will be running your battery flat by turning the steering wheel! The diagnostic software should show you whats wrong. As for the key, search the forum if no-one more in the know arrives shortly. it will be on here somewhere!

You will need the key recoding, this requires diagnostic equipment.
