OK So if you were about to order a vRS which options would you take ?

Which colour would you have ?

The last vRS I had was very high spec, I had purchased it with a view to keeping it long term - that didnt happen due to my move, but as I'm coming back to the mainland I will need a car.

I wasn't going to buy new, but maybe I should - I don't intend selling so I wont be effected by the drop in value(like I was last time:rolleyes: )

If your going to keep it get everything you want.

Or go and buy a Mondeo ST220 with everything on it already for the same money,

Thats what i'm 95% decided is my next car.

All due to mileage driven now etc.

If you want a sports car my Boxster is for sale!!!!!!

Although I don't need the space in an Octavia or similar vehicle, I quite like the added security that gives (real or otherwise) in relation to accident survival etc.

Plus not being the most svelte of people I have to be careful what cars I try...

I had to crawl out of an elise on all fours - very embarrasing. Funnily enough the ST220 did come to mind, not sure I can see myself owning a Ford for some reason. Of all the cars I've owned the bulk have been VAG or Toyota. 1 excursion into vauxhall ownership, 1 brief into peugeot(god I hate french cars!)

I had loads of Cavaliers, from Mk 1 1900cc upto the last SRi but went off them when the Vectra came out [those weird mirrors!]

Prior to that I always had Fords till I had a Cortina 2000E and couldn't keep up with the rust [it was only 6 months old when I got it - apparently they had been left out in a field in Dagenham, unpainted, during a strike.]

It is easy to get put off a "brand". I liked the Primera till they stopped the GT and then brought out that peculiar French shaped model. I'll probably stick with Skoda till they in turn produce some kind of design c**k-up or the mechanical side goes off. They are already just beginning to lose the fabled build quality, and, to some degree, the exceptional value - though that still seems good to me.

Nice car they are too, but I fear you might be a little miffed if I offered you 20K

Maxidot without Sat Nav

You can have my Boxster for £20K, see link below:-

Porsche : 2001 Boxster S

In order of priority would have -

Race Blue

Jumbo Box Pack

18" Wheels

Xenon's

Front & Rear Parking Sensors

Maxidot - Not Nav

Rain Sensor etc

Cruise - Can be fitted after.

Well actually all bar the front sensors that's what I did get as there wasn't one in the UK with all that on.

I didn't know you could get the Sunset Glass, maybe only on the Estate.

I'm not sure on the sunset glass, it's listed on the all models options, doesnt say about being estate only. What's the standard radio like, one of the reasons I had nav before was I preffered "the look" with the satnav screen :o

Surely it would be more expensive to retrofit cruise ?

I've not got Sunset glass in my book for the vRS.

SatNav is £1350!!! They are coming up on ebay for sub £500. The fitted unit is fine, plays MP3 now too.

Cruise is £150 which is similar to having it fitted after. The point I was making was that it may be possible to get one already on the docks rather than factory order.

I had a new shape Primera estate and it was about as reliable as a paper umbrella, you can thank Renault for that.

I have had 2 Octavias now and I don't think I'll wander away from the VAG brand unless things get really bad in the future.

SWMBO is jumping on the VAG band wagon after all manner of problems with her Micra SX (again, thanks Renault).

It'll be in the form of a nice shiny Fabia vRS.

Back on thread...............

As has been said, go for every option you want if you are keeping the car for some time.

If some of the options turn out not to your liking you'll get over it, if you don't tick the boxes you wan't you'll kick yourself every day you own that car.

Yeah I'm not sure I can be bothered waiting for a factory order - I would have to have another car in the meantime, which would be a pain to sell or PX

I've just emailed the dealer asking them to find out whats available in the uk

If ya want we could see whats unregistered over here, the standard spec is a little higher compared to the UK but coming towards end of the year there might not be too many options on them....btw The Diesels Vrs's have started arriving.

Where's the heated seats option?

Where's the heated seats option?

not listed as a seperate option, only with leather seats - not available on vRS

Ah - fair enough.

But a bit sucky.

Hi

I have just bought an Ex-Demo Red vRS estate.

It has virtually every option available - including heated seats - that are not even supposed to be available on a vRS!

Full list includes:-

SatNav (MFD2)

Dual climate

Rain sensor - auto wipers

Auto dimming rearview mirror

Sunset glass

18" alloys

Rear parking sensors

Curtain airbags

Mobile phone kit

Heated seats

Cruise control

Xenon lights

Car would have been around £23K if at list price.

I bought it for £17495!!!

A similar spec Golf GTi is around £26500!!!!

I am very pleased with the car and spec it has - having just come out of a 2005 Imprezza WRX!

Cheers!

Hi

Got it from Simpsons of Colne.

Great garage to deal with - the car was immaculate when I collected it.

They are a very friendly bunch up there and they seem to price their ex-demo cars very competitively and always spec them up really well - they also had a Race blue 5 door with Satnav, Xenons etc. - but I really wanted the estate to cart all the things of a one year old boy about!!!

Will get some pictures up later this week.

Cheers!

Got that, plus -

extra airbags

sunroof

auto dimming mirror

black magic instead of race blue

...sure there was something else...

I'd like to add the light assistant at sometime... :)

18" wheels

Maxi dot + sat nav

I've not had a sunroof for years!

I'd get it painted black, then spend all my "extras" money on fuel and hoon it about the place like the slag it is-if you're not selling it, then no benefit (apart from comfort) to be gained by shelling out on little things like F&R parking sensors

Can't believe after such a short time your back buying another! Mitchells must be rubbing their hands together!

I'd fully load it, but then that's just me! Our Golf is fully loaded but I have still managerd to spend 6k on mods!
