Drivers window fault

Featured Replies

03 Octavia Ambiente TDI with wierd drivers side window fail. When the switch to open the drivers side window is pressed, the window will not open. However, the interior light and dashboard seatbelt alam light illuminate and the central locking activates. All the other windows operate correctly.

Has anyone seen an issue like this. If I disconnent the battery, will it reset evrything? Would there be any other possible causes? I would appreciate any suggestions.

Check out anybody near you with VAG.com, that'll tell you the problem.

Cure is another thing, but at least you've got a head start.

Hi,

thanks for your response. I ended up taking the car to the local Skoda dealer. The window motor was replaced at a cost of 387 Euro. He said that the same motor is used for the central locking and that this is why the other symptoms manifested themselves?

I wonder if this has anything to do with the dry solder joints similiar to that someone posted a link to regarding the door lock.

The only way to know is to open the bad one and check it....................

Hey sbb, do the Skoda Dealer return you the bad part? Maybe you can open it and check the PC board for dry solder joints.

and save 387 Euro, maybe if they didn't give you the damaged part you could get it off them and have a look.... it may help someone else and you'd have a spare.

Btw Sbb I just noticed your Irish...you have a PM.
