Electric car polishers..are they worth it?

Featured Replies

Toying with the idea of buying an electric car polisher. Are they worth getting or is good old fashioned elbow grease the best way.

It took me ages to polish my Superb the other day and the results werent up to my standard....any help appreciated:)

Most "Hobby" polishers are fairly rubbish -- would be better with a PC (porter cable) polisher. Take a look over at Detailing World there is loads of advice on there.

Autopia Car Care - Sellers of Porter Cable

And click here for a very useful guide on going about importing one Import Guide.

Take a wander around the detailing world forums, you will see plenty of examples of how really bad paintwork can be rescued, and how good paintwork can be made to look fantastic!!

HTH

Only other way I would go would be to get the car proffesionaly buffed - then keep on top of it yourself ( sounds like hard work to me!!)

In a word, no!. Don't waste your money unless you are prepared to spend that little bit more and get yourself a Porter Cable as suggested in the previous post.

I've got a Sealy powerbuff left over from my valeting days - single speed, 1600rpm

I think things have moved on since then (1996) but I can get pretty amazing results with me old Sealy!
